Survival Kits and Equipment

Do you require a Ready Made Survival Kit,?? or perhaps you need a few items to put with your own supplies...?  We can help!

READY MADE KITS COME AS A BACKPACK KIT FOR 1 PERSON for $260  ...ADDITIONAL PERSON @ $30 EACH

AND INCLUDE;

Food - for 3 days (per person)

Water - small quantity, but collection container and sterilising tablets included

Shelter - tarp, thermal blankets and sleeping bags (per person)

Lighting - torches (dynamo - no batteries required) , matches, lightstick, candle

Communication - Dynamo powered Radio (includes cell ph charger, Siren and torch) light sticks, whistle

First aid kit - comprehensive, just add your own medications

Tools - duct tape, pocket multi tool, braided line, leather gloves, dust masks

Hygiene - toilet paper , hand sanitiser , medical gloves, rubbish sacks,

and more!!!

   WATER AND FOOD

  • Store water. Civil defense says we need 3 liters person per day... aim for 3 days minimum!)
  • Water containers Collapsible are good.  take up little room and easily carried
  • Water purification Tables are available to add to water to ensure it is safe to drink (aqua tabs)
  • FOOD specialised emergency bars are designed to...
  • feed 1 person for 72 hours, Very basic, but take up little room and offer all calories /nutrients needed.
  • Cans are heavy to carry and need tools, utensils, cooking? , dried/dehydrated food require precious water.

  • The Food is approx $19 per person, and this emergency bar provides nourishment for 1 person for 72 hrs (9 'meals')

DONT FORGET Special food for babies - bottles, food/formula ALSO elderly and PETS (including additional water)

 

COMMUNICATION

  • Radio dynamo or solar do not require batteries (Look for dynamo torch /radio /siren combos)
  • Whistle easier to attract attention than yelling
  • Glow sticks these will glow overnight even if you are asleep or unconscious... bend and shake to activate, safe

 

SHELTER

  • Tarp or a small tent . Can use this to collect water if raining or dewy mornings
  • Foil Blankets or even better Foil Sleeping bags. one per person. 
  • Poncho cheap disposable basic protection from weather Can use large rubbish sack too. One per person.

 

LIGHTING

  • Torch dynamo powered torches are great no need for batteries.  (Look for dynamo torch /radio /siren combos, I have two, one as a backup)
  • Candles short fat ones (for safety reasons..less likely to fall over)  ... i prefer
  • Light sticks or Glow Sticks just bend and shake for safe comfortable lighting these will glow overnight even if you fall asleep or become unconscious
  • Matches-waterproof and/or lighter. I carry both

 

TOOLS

  • Multitool often these have knives, can openers, screwdrivers etc.. you never know quite what you may require.
  • Leather Gloves to dig through rubble
  • Dust masks for dusty conditions /volcanic eruptions (consider dust/mist N95 masks as these will suffice for pandemic purposes as well)
  • Rope or braided line tie up your tarp/ shelter - many uses
  • Cable ties i have these in our personal kit - handy for lots of things
  • Duct Tape strong tape for repairs, strapping - many uses

 

PERSONAL ITEMS

  • First aid kit Essential! also add medications that may be required, asthma inhalers, heart pills etc (keep updated and current)
  • Consider; Pain relief - paracetamol or ibuprofen.  Sunblock. Antibiotic cream. itch cream
  • Toilet paper for hygiene uses,  but also handy if required to start a fire 
  • Rubbish sacks emergency toilet, hygiene, also cut arm/head holes for makeshift raincoat, or shelter
  • Personal items  soap, Hand sanitizer, toothpaste & Brush, comb, (baby) wipes, Sanitary items, Nappies
  • Babies supplies bottles, food/formula

 

Additional items

  • Money small denomination bills. Money may be hard to access in an emergency
  • Documents Copies of the front page of your passport / drivers licence and insurance details and any other important docs.
  • Playing cards /tennis ball (for the kids - reduce boredom?)
  • Sunblock / Sun hat /raincoats - seasonal

 

Suggestions

  • Store your kit by an exit, somewhere easily accessed in an emergency. Carshed/Garage?
  • Have sturdy shoes beside your kit
  • ..and if you have time remember to grab essential items like glasses, hearing aids, walkers, baby's favourite toy...etc
